Located at Mt St Patrick, the Hanmer Springs Ski Area has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for skiers and snowboarders.


Just over two hours from Christchurch, this club field is ideal for all skiers and snowboards with terrain for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels.


The top of the mountain has spectacular views and showcases the open area to ski and snowboard which are wide open to enjoy.


The Hanmer Springs Ski Area is a club field run by the Amuri Ski Club, so the field is usually open from dawn to dusk with a flexible timetable. The lower cost of the tow fees make Hanmer Springs a great and affordable place to ski and snowboard.


The poma lift takes you to the top and the rope tow gives you access to other runs to the powdery slopes for a long day of skiing and snowboarding.



Ski Area Terrain:
The ski field caters for all levels. Beginners can ski and snowboard in the learners area which has its own rope tow. Experienced ski and snowboard instructors can help to brush up skills or to help beginners on their first time. Intermediate and advanced skiers can ride down the groomed trails and the more adventurous can check out some of the off-priste areas as well.


Ski Area Location:
The Hanmer Springs Ski Area is just 17 km from the Hanmer Springs Village on Clarence Valley Road. Chains should be carried to the area since access is on a gravel road. Take the Clarence Valley Road which is clearly marked to Hanmer Springs Ski Area and turn off to St James Station.


Shuttle information:
There are shuttles that run daily from Hanmer Springs during the season.

Hanmer Springs has got everything covered for a great day on the slopes with ski hire, a Day Lodge with food and drinks, and on-mountain accommodation at either the Robinson Lodge or Day Lodge.
