There are 5 tour options, each exploring hidden gems of the Hurunui and the back country of Hanmer Springs.

Jacks & Jollies:

Perfect for those short on time, Jacks Pass and Jollies Pass is a scenic loop route and a must do for anyone wanting to explore the back of Hanmer Springs.

Lunch at Lake Tennyson:

On the boundary between Molesworth and St James Conservation Area, Lake Tennyson's combination of water, forest, high mountains, tussock, and scree creates a scenic highlight.

Lake Sedgemere:

From the Lake Tennyson turn, travel another 12km to the top of Island Saddle at 1347m above sea level, the highest publicly accessed road. This alpine pass straddles the boundary between Marlborough and Canterbury. The tour then follows the headwaters of the Wairau River for approximately 11km until arriving at Sedgemere Lakes.

Molesworth Recreation Reserve:

Molesworth is a land of extremes. This vast landscape contains scree-scarred mountains, wide river valleys, and tussock slopes. This tour drives through Molesworth on the Acheron Road and guests enjoy lunch at the historic Cobb Cottage.

At 180,787 hectares, Molesworth is New Zealand's largest farm. Weather ranges from scorching summers to freezing snowy winters.

Travel to Rainbow Station:

Rainbow Station is home to the popular tourist route Rainbow-Hanmer Road. It is also home to a large scale farming operation and our honey bees.

Driving through Rainbow Station will open your eyes to the magnificent beauty the South Island has to offer. Mountain ranges, clear rivers and hidden waterfalls created by the melting snow and beauty of all things New Zealand is known and loved for.
