Hanmer Springs attracts many walkers and hikers with its abundance of walking tracks from short leisurely strolls along forest paths to day-hikes up Mt Isobel. Hanmer Springs offers varied and scenic walking options for everyone. 

Some of the tracks take you through the Heritage Forest Area where the exotic trees were planted over 100 years ago, while others pass through pockets of native Mountain Beech - a true sight to behold.

The Forest Amble Walk in Hanmer Springs is the perfect short walk for kids, with a range of large wooden art sculptures to find along the way. The Hanmer Heritage Forest is beautiful as it is, but you’ll have no trouble enticing the kids on this walk with a big friendly giant, an Orangutan, a Tuatara, and a dog (to name a few) to spy along the way.
